IF YOU READ NOTHING ELSE: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS POT[Edit: For over 2 1/2 years I've put this pot through hell. Several times I've forgotten it and let it boil dry until the coffer was a black charred mass and the white paint turned brown. It looks nasty, but still makes great coffee!]I have had a 6-cup mocha pot for over a year and used it 1 to 3 times a day. I loved it but was never quite satisfied. This pot solved EVERYTHING!First, it is a 9 cup which is much better than 6 cups mainly because of the physical size. The base is larger which means it fits better on burners. I use gas and finding a burner small enough was a real problem. Also the coffee holder is shallow with a bigger diameter which makes it much easier to fill without spillage.Next, the handle is wonderful! All the 6 cup units use a baby handle that is very close to the pot and the hinge. I have normal size hands and can barely avoid burns, good luck if you have big fingers. This pot is DIFFERENT from all the others. It has a wood tone (not wood) handle that is BIGGER, bends away from the pot, and insulates your fingers from the hinge! You would have to try really hard to burn yourself.Third, the pour spout works great. In the past, I had to pour slowly and carefully to avoid dribbling down the side of the pot (usually unsuccessfully). Not any more. Finally, I got this style of pot because I want great coffee. This pot does an exceptional job! From cold water to delicious coffee in about 7 minutes.Comment: I am NOT a coffee snob. I just can't drink sweetened or artificially poisoned drinks and that leaves few choices. So, I drink a lot of black coffee (or with milk). I hand grind my own beans. I have tried many brewing methods and this is the best I have found. Also, I don't like espresso. I make my coffee using an espresso cup of coffee in a standard coffee mug and adding water (temperature your choice).
