The grinder looks nice and compact. Not too loud. But at the finest settings it is coarser than Lavazza Oro ground coffee I usually drink and of Trader Joe's Italian espresso fine grind (possibly Illy repackaged).It works in a De'Longhi Stilosa espresso machine with a pressurized portafilter, but it is not finer than the grind I get with the grinders at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, which also are not fine enough.The finest grind this grinder produces is finer than the average pre-ground coffee available in the USA but is coarser than the pre-ground coffee available in Italy like Lavazza, Illy, Kimbo, etc.I was hoping this would produce a finer, more uniform ground. I had a Hario manual grinder in the past which produced better ground coffee, but it would take forever.I may return this, as I may just keep buying pre-ground Lavazza Oro, which is great, and I can alternate with other brands.Of course, ground coffee may lose the aroma and flavor after the package is opened, but maybe that is also in our minds.Anyway, this is a decent grinder if not specific for espresso. you can make it work with the portafilter.But since I brew coffee with Moka pots and an espresso machine, I may end up returning this.
