I've always avoided loose teas because I hate the debris. This item was recommended to me to help eliminate the granules. This makes loose teas an option for me now. I love the completeness of the set. It's a fabulous gift for a tea drinker. The mesh insert is very good at catching the debris while the tea steeps then the lid makes a perfect saucer to set the insert on while you drink your tea. I like cream and sugar in my tea, so the stirrer is a welcome inclusion. I've used it at least once a day since the order arrived. Everything washes very easily, but I highly recommend emptying and rinsing the insert before anything has a chance to dry in the mesh. I've used this with a Thai iced tea that I bought on here and the tea drop dissolves like coffee grounds and they want to stay in the holes of the insert if allowed to dry there. A brush will get the debris out of the mesh, but I worry that using a brush will damage the mesh and open the holes more than I want so I don't want to do that again.
